Ambrose is of the Gangulu, Welsh, Australian South Sea Islander and Northern Cheyenne lineages, with ancestral healers reaching back more than 3,000 generations. He was educated, mentored and chosen by his grandfather, Robert Toby Senior — a Gangulu traditional healer, lore man, and cultural heritage steward and protector — to continue his lineage of caring for Gangulu country.
